According to the latest Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Voices survey, small business owners are forging ahead with growth plans despite persistent uncertainty around capital access, tax policy, and trade. They are doing so despite 81% of small business owners saying they don’t think small businesses are a priority in Washington right now, and 86% do not believe small businesses have enough of a voice in Washington.
As a site selection advisor, I see this resilience every day, but I also know that growth without strategy can leave opportunity on the table.
That’s why one of our firm’s 10 Guideposts to Business Incentives is this:
“Include favorable tax rulings and legislation on your economic development growth wish list.”
Last week, I had the opportunity to take that message directly to Capitol Hill during the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. I met with staff from Indiana’s own Senator Todd Young, Senator Jim Banks, the U.S. Senate and House Small Business Committees, the SBA, and Congressman Jefferson Shreve.
My focus?
- Tax policy that supports small and mid-sized businesses
- Expansion of tax credits and business incentives
- Tariff impacts on domestic manufacturing
- Sustainable funding for economic development programs
In today’s uncertain economic and policy landscape, choosing where to grow your business isn’t just a real estate decision—it’s a strategic one. The right location, paired with the right incentives, can unlock millions in value, accelerate your expansion, and strengthen your competitive edge.
As a site selection advisor and small business advocate, I help companies like yours:
- Navigate complex tax credit and incentive programs
- Align location decisions with legislative and economic development trends
- Negotiate incentive packages that maximize ROI and minimize risk
You don’t have to navigate this alone, and you shouldn’t leave growth opportunity on the table.
Let’s talk about how to turn your next move into a strategic advantage.
