Investing in the Future of Work: Our Commitment to Workforce Development
As we celebrated Labor Day and honored the contributions of workers across the country, our firm reflected on the future of work—and the role we play in shaping it. Economic development and workforce advancement are central to our mission, and this year, we’re proud to deepen that commitment through our Pledge 1% initiative.
We’ve selected Girls Inc. of Johnson County, Indiana, as our nonprofit partner for the year. This organization is not only aligned with our values, but also deeply connected to our leadership—our President & CEO, Julie Ashmore, has served on its board for several years. Girls Inc. is a national leader in empowering young women to be strong, smart, and bold, and its work directly supports the development of a more inclusive and resilient workforce.
Through Project Accelerate, Girls Inc. is addressing some of the most persistent challenges in today’s labor market: unequal pay, underrepresentation of women—especially women of color—in leadership roles, and systemic barriers to career advancement. Thanks to a new grant, Girls Inc. of Johnson County will soon launch a local implementation of this initiative, helping young women transition from high school to college and careers in the future.
One of the most exciting aspects of this effort is a new partnership with Atterbury Job Corps, which will provide mentorship, career readiness training, and real-world opportunities to future leaders in our community. This collaboration exemplifies the kind of workforce development we believe in—one that is inclusive, forward-thinking, and rooted in local impact.
The Future – By 2030
By 2030, Project Accelerate will have served over 5,400 young women nationwide. But meaningful change begins at the community level. Through our Pledge 1% commitment, we’re proud to support this transformative work and help build a pipeline of talent that reflects the diversity and strength of our future workforce.
This past Labor Day, we reaffirmed our dedication to economic development and workforce equity—not just in principle, but in practice.
We specialize in helping developers, municipalities, and private investors identify optimal sites and unlock the full value of available tax credits, grants, and infrastructure support. Whether you’re pursuing a project in Indiana or anywhere across the U.S., we’ll help you build a financially sound plan that meets your goals and revitalizes your community.
